That the Board of Supervisors:
1. Approve the appointment of Veronica Meggerson and Megan Blanchard to the First Five Humboldt Commission.

DISCUSSION:
The Humboldt County Board of Supervisors is the appointing body for the First Five Humboldt Commission. As such, the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) requests the Board to appoint Veronica “Nica” Meggerson and Megan Blanchard to the First Five Humboldt Commission. DHHS’s Public Health Branch and Social Services Branch each have a vacancy on the board due to terms expiring in 2019. Megan Blanchard, Director of Public Health Nursing, is proposed to again represent Public Health, and Veronica “Nica” Meggerson, Program Manager II in Child Welfare Services, will be the new Social Services representative. The appointments are for a four-year term with an expiration of December 14, 2024.
