DISCUSSION:
At the June 27, 2023, Humboldt County Board of Supervisors (“Board”) meeting, the Board discussed potential amendments to the Board of Supervisors Code of Conduct and Ethics. The Board chose not to approve the amendments as written that date and directed staff to bring amendments back to the Board of Supervisors Code of Conduct and Ethics with more clear language. The Board also requested time be given to Board members to review the Board of Supervisors Code of Conduct and Ethics and provide feedback for additional edits.
The attached version being recommended for approval focuses on amendment to section B.9. “Advocacy”. The amendments aim to clarify the role of a Board Member when acting as a Board designated delegate and when discussing matters related to future policies or projects that may come before the Board for consideration.
