DISCUSSION:

Supervisor Madrone is announcing the appointment of Carol Schmitt to fill a vacancy on the McKinleyville Municipal Advisory Committee (MMAC). This vacancy occurred following the resignation of Katrina Taylor. Schmitt will fill the remainder of Taylor’s term with an expiration date of Oct. 28, 2029.

The MMAC consists of eight voting members who either live in, own property in, or do business in the greater McKinleyville area. Since McKinleyville is in Humboldt County’s Fifth District, three members are appointed by the Fifth District Supervisor, and three at-large members are appointed by a majority vote of the Board of Supervisors. This is a Fifth District Supervisor appointment.

All appointed members of the MMAC will be required to comply with California Fair Political Practices Form 700 requirements as well as completing AB1234 Ethics Training every two years.
