RECOMMENDATION(S):
Recommendation
That the Board of Supervisors:
1. Approve, and ratify the Department of Health and Human Services - Director of Public Health's execution of, the attached data use and disclosure agreement with CDPH regarding access to the CalREDIE system for the period of September 23, 2024 through September 22, 2027;
2. Authorize the Department of Health and Human Services - Director of Public Health, or a designee thereof, to execute any and all subsequent amendments, and any other documents directly related, to the attached agreement with the California Department of Public Health, after review and approval by County Counsel, Risk Management, and the County Administrative Office; and
3. Direct the Clerk of the Board to return one certified copy of the Board order pertaining to this item to the Department of Health and Human Services - Contract Unit.

DISCUSSION:
CalREDIE is a web-based, secure, disease reporting and surveillance system implemented by CDPH. The Department of Health and Human Services - Public Health (DHHS - PH) Laboratory and Communicable Disease programs currently use CalREDIE to report cases of communicable disease to CDPH. Health care providers and laboratories can report cases of communicable diseases to their local public health departments and to CDPH through CalREDIE twenty-four hours a day.
