RECOMMENDATION(S):
Recommendation
That the Board of Supervisors:
1. Approve Agreement Number 23-10498 (Attachment 1) between the Humboldt County Sheriff's Office (HCSO) and the California Department of Public Health (CDPH);
2. Authorize the Chair of the Board, Sheriff, Undersheriff and Deputy Director of Financial and Support Services to sign Agreement Number 23-10498 (Attachment 1), and to execute all necessary contracts and agreements and amendments thereto, in the name of the County of Humboldt, and all other certifications, assurances, Memorandums of Understanding, or documents required by the California Department of Public Health (CDPH), such authorization shall be retroactive to July 1, 2023, to facilitate documents that need to be signed timely for this grant; and
3. Approve the supplemental budget (Attachment 2) for the Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity SOGI Data Collection Pilot Program budget unit 1100-221904 in the amount of $35,333.00 (4/5 vote required).

DISCUSSION:
The California Department of Public Health (CDPH), Injury and Violence Prevention Branch (IVPB) has established a Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity (SOGI) Data Collection Pilot Program through Assembly Bill (AB) 1094. The program has selected six counties in the state, including Humboldt County, to participate in its initial efforts.
