RECOMMENDATION(S):
Recommendation
That the Board of Supervisors:
1. Review the attached applications from Amber Cavanaugh representing College of the Redwoods, Michelle Glancy representing Open Door Health Center and Danny Kelley representing Blue Lake Rancheria; and
2. Appoint Amber Cavanaugh, Michelle Glancy and Danny Kelley to the Humboldt County Workforce Development Board for a two-year term, effective immediately pursuant to Humboldt County Workforce Development Board Bylaws.

DISCUSSION:
The Humboldt County Workforce Development Board is an advisory board to the Humboldt County Board of Supervisors.
The Workforce Development Board is required, in accordance with the Workforce Investment Opportunity Act (WIOA), to oversee Humboldt County's workforce system and funding opportunities. Additionally, the Workforce Development Board offers resources that meet employer and employee needs for the county's continued prosperity.
Under WIOA, the Humboldt County Workforce Development Board must be comprised of members representing public agencies, labor unions, private sector businesses and community-based organizations providing workforce services and vocational rehabilitation.
On Nov. 22, 2024, the Humboldt County Workforce Development Board unanimously approved the applications Amber Cavanaugh, Michelle Glancy and Danny Kelley of for board membership. The appointment of Amber Cavanaugh representing College of the Redwoods, Michelle Glancy representing Open Door Health Cetner and Danny Kelley representing Blue Lake Rancheria are all required seats on the Humboldt County Workforce...
