DISCUSSION:
The Humboldt County Board of Supervisors is pleased to recognize Shane Wilson upon his retirement as Fire Chief of the Rio Dell Volunteer Fire Department after thirty years of dedicated service to the community.
Since joining the department in 1996, Wilson has demonstrated exceptional leadership, courage and commitment to public safety. As Fire Chief from 2005 to 2026, he strengthened emergency response capabilities, fostered regional cooperation among fire agencies and served as a mentor to countless firefighters. Beyond his service in the fire department, Wilson has dedicated his time to coaching local youth, supporting community events and improving the quality of life in Rio Dell.
The attached resolution honors Shane Wilson's many contributions and expresses the Board's sincere appreciation for his decades of service, leadership and dedication to the residents of Rio Dell and Humboldt County.
