That the Board of Supervisors:
1. Approve and authorize the Chair of the Board, County Administrative Officer and Human Resources Director to sign a Side Letter of Agreement with the Humboldt Deputy Sheriff’s Organization, Law Enforcement Non-Management Unit 6; amending Article 72 of the Memorandum of Understanding to September 7, 2020.

DISCUSSION:
The County of Humboldt and the Humboldt Deputy Sheriff’s Organization, Law Enforcement Non-Management Unit 6, have agreed to a Side Letter of Agreement (Attachment 1) in order to amend Article 72 of the Memorandum of Understanding. The proposed side letter will extend the existing Memorandum of Understanding until September 7, 2020.
FINANCIAL IMPACT:
There is no fiscal impact associated with the Side Letter of Agreement. Appropriations were adopted in the budget cycle.

None
ALTERNATIVES TO STAFF RECOMMENDATIONS:
The Board could choose to not adopt the resolution; however, this is not recommended as the clarifications of the resolution reflect the mutual understanding and the parties.
