DISCUSSION:
February is recognized nationally as National Children’s Dental Health Month, providing an opportunity to raise awareness about the importance of oral health and preventive dental care for children. Tooth decay remains the most common chronic disease among children, despite being largely preventable through proper oral hygiene and regular dental visits. Adoption of this proclamation highlights local oral health challenges, acknowledges the efforts of healthcare providers and reinforces Humboldt County’s commitment to improving access to preventive dental services.
