DISCUSSION:
March 15-21, 2026, is recognized nationally as Sunshine Week, which promotes open government, transparency and the public’s right to access information.
In Humboldt County, transparency and public participation are essential to maintaining public trust. The county remains committed to the principles of the California Public Records Act and the Ralph M. Brown Act, which ensure access to public records and meetings.
Therefore, the Board of Supervisors would like to proclaim March 15-21, 2026, as Sunshine Week in Humboldt County and reaffirm its commitment to open and accountable governance.
