RECOMMENDATION(S):
Recommendation
That the Board of Supervisors:
1. Reappoint current members Dan Heinen, Michael Hetticher, Jeff Hunerlach, Dean Kerstetter, Kari Love, Libby Maynard, Dena McCullough, and Pru Ratliff to the HCWDB for two-year terms effective July 1, 2019, pursuant to the HCWDB.

DISCUSSION:
The HCWDB is a commission appointed by the Board of Supervisors and is required by the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) to oversee said funds and the workforce system in Humboldt County (the Local Workforce Development Area). The mission of the HCWDB is to bring together resources to meet employer and employee needs and advance the prosperity of local communities. WIOA requires certain public agencies and labor unions to be appointed as members of the HCWDB. HCWDB membership must be balanced with an equal number, plus one, of private sector members, as WIOA regulations require that at least 51 percent of the HCWDB membership is composed of the private sector.
Members up for reappointment who wish to continue to serve on the HCWDB include:

* Michael Hetticher - Labor Union Representative - Postal Workers' Union Local 1056
* Jeff Hunerlach - Labor Union Representative - Operating Engineers Local #3
* Dean Kerstetter - Business Representative - Humboldt Redwood Company
* Kari Love - CBO Representative - Redwood Community Action Agency
* Libby Maynard - Business Representative - Ink People Center for the Arts
* Dena McCullough - Business Representative - McCullough Construction
* Pru Ratliff - Education Representative - College of the Redwoods
