RECOMMENDATION(S):
Recommendation
That the Board of Supervisors:
1. Approve the 2026 Operating Budget for the Humboldt County Fair Association; and
2. Authorize the Chair and the Clerk of the Board to sign the approved budget; and
3. Return a fully executed copy of the budget to the Humboldt County Fair Association.

DISCUSSION:
The Humboldt County Fair Association Board of Directors approved its annual operating budget on March 30, 2026, at its regularly scheduled board meeting. In accordance with Section 5 of the “Lease/Agreement for Operation, Management and Maintenance of Humboldt County Fair and Fairgrounds,” the Humboldt County Fair Association respectfully has submitted its 2026 operating budget to the Humboldt County Board of Supervisors for approval.
SOURCE OF FUNDING:
General Fund
FINANCIAL IMPACT:
Approving the operating budget does not have an immediate impact on the General Fund. Approval of the Humboldt County Fair Association’s annual budget ensures the fair can continue to receive state and federal funds. Operation of the Humboldt County Fair is estimated to bring several million dollars in economic activity to the county annually.
