First Amendment to the Lease Agreement with the Humboldt County Fair Association Regarding the Operation, Management and Maintenance of the Humboldt County Fair and Fairgrounds (4/5 Vote Required)end
RECOMMENDATION(S):Recommendation
That the Board of Supervisors:
1. Approve, and authorize the Chair of the Board to execute, the attached first amendment to the lease agreement with the Humboldt County Fair Association regarding the operation, management and maintenance of the Humboldt County Fair and Fairgrounds (4/5 Vote Required); and
2. Direct the Clerk of the Board to return one (1) fully executed original copy of the attached first amendment to the lease agreement with the Humboldt County Fair Association regarding the operation, management and maintenance of the Humboldt County Fair and Fairgrounds to the Real Property Division of the Humboldt County Department of Public Works for further processing.

DISCUSSION:
Since 1926, the Humboldt County Fair Association has been leasing and operating the Humboldt County Fairgrounds under various agreements with the County of Humboldt. On July 1, 2020, the county and the Humboldt County Fair Association entered into the current lease agreement regarding the operation, management and maintenance of the Humboldt County Fair and Fairgrounds. The current lease agreement with the Humboldt County Fair Association is scheduled to expire on June 30, 2025. The Humboldt County Fair Association and the county have mutually agreed to a one-year extension of the lease term.
