RECOMMENDATION(S):
Recommendation
That the Board of Supervisors:
1. Review and adopt the revisions to the Bylaws of the Behavioral Health Board dated Jan. 1, 2025; and
2. Direct the Clerk of the Board to provide the Department of Health and Human Services -Contract Unit with one (1) fully executed, certified copy of the Board order related to this item.

DISCUSSION:
The Humboldt County Board of Supervisors adopted a resolution on September 25, 1962, that established the Humboldt County Advisory Committee on Mental Health. The Humboldt County Advisory Committee on Mental Health became the Local Mental Health Board.

On Feb. 14, 2012, a resolution was adopted by the Board of Supervisors that approved changing the name of the Mental Health Board to the Behavioral Health Board. On Feb. 14, 2012, the Board of Supervisors approved the revised Behavioral Health Bylaws approved by the Behavioral Health Board on Sept. 15, 2011.

The Behavioral Health Board, appointed by the Board of Supervisors, operates in compliance with the authority, purpose and duties derived from the Welfare and Institutions Code section 5604.2; the County Board of Supervisors; and other pertinent Legislation.

On March 28, 2024, the Behavioral Health Board approved proposed revisions to the Bylaws. On June 4, 2024, the Board of Supervisors adopted the Bylaws dated March 28, 2024.
