RECOMMENDATION(S):

Recommendation

That the Board of Supervisors:

1.                     Approve the reappointment of Michael Fields to the Headwaters Fund Board.

DISCUSSION:

The Headwaters Fund Board serves as the advisory body to the Board of Supervisors regarding funds received from the acquisition of the Headwaters Forest Preserve by state and federal governments. The Headwaters Fund invests in projects through grants and loans to support economic opportunity, prosperity and quality of life for Humboldt County residents.

 

Pursuant to Section 8.b of the Headwaters Fund Board Manual, recommendations for reappointment of existing board members are made by the Headwaters Fund Board and are subject to final approval by the Board of Supervisors. At its June 10, 2026 meeting, the Headwaters Fund Board approved the recommendation to reappoint Michael Fields to the Headwaters Fund Board. The Board of Supervisors may now consider this recommendation for final approval.

 

All appointed members of the Headwaters Fund Board are required to comply with California Fair Political Practices Commission Form 700 filing requirements and complete AB 1234 Ethics Training every two years.
