RECOMMENDATION(S):
Recommendation
That the Board of Supervisors:
1. Direct the Registrar of Voters to conduct the special election for Fieldbrook Glendale Community Services District;
2. Consolidate this election with the statewide Primary Election to be held on March 5, 2024; and
3. Direct Fieldbrook Glendale Community Services District to reimburse the County of Humboldt for costs incurred.

DISCUSSION:
On October 24, 2023, Fieldbrook Glendale Community Services District passed resolution No. 2023-04 to submit to the electors in the Fieldbrook Fire Protection Area, Zone 2, shall the imposition of a special tax be renewed for a period of ten (10) years. Further, Resolution No. 2023-04 requests the Humboldt County Board of Supervisors consolidate this election with the statewide Primary Election to be held on March 5, 2024, directs County Election Officials to conduct the necessary election, and states that Fieldbrook Glendale Community Services District agrees to reimburse the County for all costs associated with the special election.

The question to be submitted to the voters of the Fieldbrook Fire Protection Area, Zone 2 shall read:

"The existing special tax for fire protection and emergency medical services will expire in 2024. Shall a replacement special tax for fire protection and emergency medical services be adopted by the Fieldbrook Glendale Community Services District of $95.00 per assessor's parcel in Zone Two (2), the zone compromising the Fieldbrook Fire Department's response area, such tax to continue for ten (10) years?"
