DISCUSSION:
The Humboldt County Resource Conservation District (HCRCD) is a special district under Division 9 of the California Resources Code that is to work with private landowners to conserve and protect natural resources on private land in the county. Under Division 9, Section 9317, seven members of the HCRCD Board of Directors are appointed by the Board of Supervisors to staggering four-year terms.
The HCRCD has received notice that long term member Gary Belli passed away at the end of 2021.
A Notice of Vacancy per the Board’s Protocol dated March 23, 2021 has been posted. Unless the Clerk of the Board is notified during today’s meeting of a desire to calendar this matter for further discussion on a date specific, the Clerk of the Board’s office will bring an appointment agenda item four weeks from today meeting. That item will be a departmental discussion agenda item on March 15, 2022.
FINANCIAL IMPACT:
Approval of this agenda item results in no impact to the General Fund beyond staff time developing this staff report.
