RECOMMENDATION(S):
Recommendation
That the Board of Supervisors:
1. Review the attached membership application from David Wayte (Attachments 1); and
2. Appoint David Wayte to the HC-WDB for a two-year term effective immediately pursuant to the HC-WDB Bylaws.

DISCUSSION:
The HC-WDB is a commission appointed by the Board of Supervisors and is required by the Workforce Investment Opportunity Act (WIOA) to oversee said funds and the workforce system in Humboldt County. The mission of the HC-WDB is to bring together resources to meet employer and employee needs and advance the prosperity of local communities. WIOA requires certain public agencies and labor unions to be appointed members of the HC-WDB, including a requirement for a vocational rehabilitation representative.

The HC-WDB received and approved the application for the membership of David Wayte at its Sept. 14, 2022, meeting. The HC-WDB new appointment of David Wayte represents the required participation of vocational rehabilitation, through the Department of Rehabilitation (DOR). The proposed appointment is in accordance with the HC-WDB Bylaws.

FINANCIAL IMPACT:
There is no financial impact to receiving this report.
