RECOMMENDATION(S):
Recommendation
That the Board of Supervisors:
1. Review and modify as necessary the proposed Grand Jury responses from the Board of Supervisors. (Attachment 2);
2. Approve the documents, as may be modified, as the response;
3. Direct the Clerk of the Board, within 5 working days, to submit the final response with an accompanying Board Order to the 2022-23 Grand Jury and the Presiding Judge of the Superior Court;
4. Direct the Clerk of the Board, within 5 working days, to submit a copy of all attached responses to the County Clerk/Recorder, together with a copy of the original report; and
5. Direct the Clerk of the Board, within 5 working days, to submit two copies of all attached responses to the Clerk of the Court, one of which will be forwarded to the State Archivist, together with a copy of the original report.

DISCUSSION:
The Humboldt County Civil Grand Jury investigates and reports on the operations, accounts, and records of the officers, departments, or functions of the County of Humboldt and other local government agencies. The county thanks the Grand Jury for its hard work and efforts they have put forth in their 2022-23 Grand Jury reports.
To date, the Humboldt County Civil Grand Jury has submitted 7 reports to the Presiding Judge of the Superior Court, of which were received, and one report that requires responses from your Board will come before your Board today.
The Grand Jury report titled, “Humboldt County Elections Integrity It’s Ok to Vote!” (Attachment 3) and responses to this report (Attachment 4) are included for informational purposes only. Responses to this report have been provided by the Humboldt County Clerk-Recorder & Registrar of Voters. These responses have previously been submitted to the Presiding Judge and Grand Jury as your Board is not required to respond or approve the responses related to this report, per California Penal Code Section 933.05.
The report that will be discussed and requires responses from your Board is as follows:

There is no financial impact related to providing a response. Some individual responses may require expenditures.
