DISCUSSION:

Each year the annual Truckers’ Christmas Parade is a large community event supported by both the private and public sectors. This event will be held on Saturday, Dec. 13, 2025, in Eureka. The Humboldt County Department of Public Works is requesting approval to enter county-owned equipment numbers 94140, 22616 or 22617 in the 37th Annual Truckers’ Christmas Parade. Employees will volunteer their time to decorate and drive the county of equipment in the parade and pay all entry fees. The employees feel this will be beneficial to the parade attendees as well as beneficial to the morale of the employees. The parade float entered by the Humboldt County Department of Public Works generally places first or second in the parade.

All costs associated with the recommended actions will be borne by volunteers from the Humboldt County Department of Public Works. As a result, the recommended actions will not impact the Humboldt County General Fund.
