DISCUSSION:

At the Oct. 17, 2023, Board of Supervisors meeting, the Board was notified that there was an At-Large vacancy and two Alternate vacancies on the Measure Z Citizens Advisory Committee.

The At-Large member would be an appointment for the remainder of the four-year term with an end date of January 20, 2025.  The Alternate members would be for an appointment for the remainder on the four-year term which is January 20, 2024 and an additional term with an end date of January 20, 2028.

All current applications are included and listed on the attached Application List.

All appointed members will be required to comply with the California Fair Political Practices Form 700 requirements as well as completing AB1234 Ethics training every two years.

FINANCIAL IMPACT:

There is no financial impact to making appointments to a volunteer committee.

STRATEGIC FRAMEWORK:

ALTERNATIVES TO STAFF RECOMMENDATIONS:

The Board could decide to postpone the appointments to a future date to allow for additional applications.  This is not recommended as the measure Z Citizens Advisory Committee begins their committee work at the beginning of the calendar year and delaying the appointment could interfere.
