DISCUSSION:

California Department of Public Health (CDPH)’s Office of AIDS has contracted with DHHS - Public Health since the late 1980’s to provide HIV/AIDS services in Humboldt County. The goal of the HIV/AIDS Surveillance Program is to establish and enhance active and passive HIV/AIDS case surveillance in health and social service settings. Goals include improving the timeliness, accuracy and reliability of local HIV/AIDS case data; investigating reported HIV/AIDS cases in order to establish an accurate mode of HIV transmission; and in conjunction with CDPH, Office of AIDS staff, conducting investigations of cases that are of public health importance.

Grant Agreement # 24-10279 before your Board today will allow DHHS - Public Health to be reimbursed for a maximum of $56,415 for surveillance activities performed within the period beginning July 1, 2024, through June 30, 2029.
