RECOMMENDATION(S):
Recommendation
That the Board of Supervisors:
1. Receive and file the Local Appointment List for 2026 (Attachment A); and
2. Designate the Humboldt County Library’s Eureka Main Branch as the public library required to receive a copy of such list; and
3. Direct the Clerk of the Board to send a copy of the Local Appointment List for 2026 to the Humboldt County Library’s Eureka Main Branch pursuant to Government Code Section 54973.

DISCUSSION:
Pursuant to California Government Code Section 54972, on or before Dec. 31 of each year, an appointments list of all regular and ongoing boards, commissions and committees shall be prepared. The list must state the appointive terms which will expire during the next calendar year, with the name of the incumbent appointee, the date of the appointment, the date the term expires and the necessary qualifications for the position. The list must also state the boards, commissions and committees whose members serve at the pleasure of the body and the necessary qualifications for the position.
In accordance with Section 54973 of the California Government Code, the Clerk of the Board will provide a copy of this list to the Humboldt County Public Library on Dec. 30, 2025.
