It is the desire of Cal Poly Humboldt for $5,000 of the donation be used to support the Regional Program, which provides behavioral health services, including, without limitation, mental health therapy, substance use disorder counseling and case management services, to eligible individuals residing in the outlying communities of Humboldt County. The remaining $2,500 will be used to support the Rural Program in order to address behavioral health workforce needs through experiential training.
SOURCE OF FUNDING:

FINANCIAL IMPACT:
Acceptance of this one-time donation from Cal Poly Humboldt will allow DHHS - Behavioral Health budget unit 1180-425 to be reimbursed in the amount of $7,500 for fiscal year 2024-25 for services provided by the Rural and Regional Programs.

None
ALTERNATIVES TO STAFF RECOMMENDATIONS:
The Board may choose not to accept Cal Poly Humboldt’s donation of $7,500 for the purpose of supporting the provision of behavioral health and substance use disorder treatment services to eligible individuals residing in Humboldt County. However, this alternative is not recommended since it would not allow DHHS - Behavioral Health to obtain funding that would be used to support the Rural and Regional Programs.
