DISCUSSION:

This donation comes from the Soroptimists whose mission is to transform the lives and status of women and girls through education, empowerment and enabling opportunities. The Healthy Moms staff and clients are deeply honored by this gift.

The Healthy Moms Program is a substance abuse treatment program for women who are either pregnant or have at least one child under the age of six. The program provides comprehensive services designed to meet a broad range of client needs and thus give clients the best chance of success. The services offered by Healthy Moms include group treatment, individual therapy, psychoeducation on parenting and recovery, childcare, case management, art therapy, and a breakfast program. The atmosphere of the program is designed to be nurturing and family-oriented, and clinical interventions are consistently strength-based and trauma-informed. The overall goal of the program is to help empower women to break the cycle of addiction and abuse.

The donation shall be used for special activities such as visits to the discovery museum, resources to support moms, and holiday trips to provide pro-social opportunities for moms and kids in the program.
