RECOMMENDATION(S):
Recommendation
That the Board of Supervisors:
1. Appoint a member and an alternate to the California State Association of Counties (CSAC) Board of Directors and direct the Clerk of the Board to notify CSAC of said appointments.

DISCUSSION:
Members and alternates to the CSAC Board of Directors are appointed by their respective Boards of Supervisors to one-year terms beginning on the first day of the CSAC Annual Conference. This year’s conference will be held in Chula Vista, CA, with the first Board of Directors meeting scheduled for Monday, Nov. 30, 2026.
CSAC has requested that the appointment be made by Oct. 23, 2026. Therefore, this appointment is not included in the Annual Appointment List.
The current 2026 CSAC Board member is Supervisor Arroyo, and the alternate is Supervisor Wilson.
SOURCE OF FUNDING:
General Fund
FINANCIAL IMPACT:
Membership cost for CSAC membership for the 2026-2027 fiscal year was $36,000. This cost is for all departments and members.
STAFFING IMPACT:
There is no impact to staff associated with this agenda item.
