That the Board of Supervisors:
1. Approve the modified 2024-28 Humboldt County Strategic Plan

DISCUSSION:
On March 12, 2024, your Board approved the 2024-28 Humboldt County Strategic Plan. Following that approval, Public Works Environmental Services Division proposed some additional modifications to provide clarity and accuracy around a number of Focus Areas and Action Items. The proposed changes are as follows:

For the third action item under the public safety category, edit to read "Develop multi-disciplinary team to address blight, drug houses, abandoned property, trespassing, impacts to public property and criminal conduct."

For the title of the Trinity reservoir contract category, edit to read "Exercise the county's contract right for annual water releases of not less than 50,000 acre-feet from the Trinity reservoir."

Change timeframe for "Seek funding and implement programs to address renewable energy.." from 2023 to Ongoing.

Edit "Manage the McKay Community Forest site for long-term sustainable timber" to read "Manage the McKay Community Forest site for long-term sustainable timber harvest, recreation, and conservation."

Edit "Establish sustainable groundwater management production and recreation" to read "Establish sustainable groundwater management guidelines and standards."

In addition, timeframes proposed as 2023 are updated to reflect 2024 to coincide with the timeframe represented by this Strategic Plan and a low resolution, printer friendly copy is also attached.
